The Gafford Hamsters were established in Hamilton in 1985 as a five-piece band, regularly performing on the local pub circuit for around 18 months.

In 2018, two of the original members reformed the group under the name The Gaffers, joined by former Echoes drummer Mike Stewart, and then in 2025 powerhouse drummer Eric Otoka joined the band. The result is a tight power trio delivering classic rock favourites, modern covers, and original material with energy and experience.

Gaffers 2 is the duo option from The Gaffers, featuring Grant Shaw and Denis Newby on guitar and bass.

Using premium backing tracks, the duo delivers a full rock-band sound in a more compact format, making it ideal for smaller venues, private functions, and events where a three-piece setup isn't required.

Playing many of The Gaffers' most popular songs, along with additional crowd favourites, Gaffers 2 offers the same great entertainment, professionalism, and energy that audiences have come to expect from the band.
